about

"Guilty As Pleaded" is the new single from "Erich McMann's Trucker Country" CD. The catchy tune is a Traditional "Western Swing" Country song with a shuffle beat and lyrics about a Trucker being out on the road, and although he promised his wife he wouldn't, he stops into a Honky Tonk and finds himself getting into a bit of trouble!

"Erich McMann's Trucker Country" is McMann's 2nd solo album following his 2013 debut "The Last American Songbook." McMann recorded the album completely solo, playing all the instruments himself as well as engineering and producing the project in his home studio.

The albums first single "Keep On Trucking" made The International Country Music Top 40 Airplay chart and McMann is currently number 72 on the International Country Music Chart Top 200.

Erich McMann is from the Heartland of America, an Independent artist, releasing music on his own "Paisley Cowboy Records."

lyrics

Guilty As Pleaded

The very first mistake I made, that lead me to be untrue
Was walking in that Honky Tonk with whiskey in my view
It didn’t take too long til I was flirting at the bar
Filled with gin and thinkin’ of sin, the good times went too far

Guilty as pleaded, I did you wrong and I confess
A sentenced that’s called loneliness, now that I’ve I lost you
I’m guilty as pleaded, I gave away our happiness
I cannot bare the emptiness, I feel so sad and blue

There’s no excuse for what I’ve done, you’ve heard it all before
I lost my way and your sweet love when I walked into that door
I made a promise to you and I’ve strayed from being true
And now the price I have to pay is being without you

Guilty as pleaded, I did you wrong and I confess
A sentenced that’s called loneliness, now that I’ve I lost you
I’m guilty as pleaded, I gave away our happiness
I cannot bare the emptiness, I feel so sad and blue
Now that I’ve lost you
I feel so sad and blue
